Hello Team,

We would  like to extend an invitation to all of you to participate in the 32nd Annual February 14th  Women's Memorial March, which aims to honor missing and murdered Indigenous women, girls, and Two-Spirit peoples (MMIWG2S+).

This event, organized and led by Indigenous women in the Downtown Eastside, is a touching expression of compassion, remembrance, and a call for justice. It serves as an opportunity to grieve the loss of cherished community members, remember those who are still missing, and unite in our commitment to justice and positive change.

Here are the event details:

• Date: Tuesday, February 14, 2023

• Time: 10 am - 5 pm

• Location: Main & Hastings (Family & Community Gathering at 10 am, Public March at 12 pm, Speeches & Healing Circle at 2 pm, Community Feast at 4 pm)

• Livestream: The march will also be livestreamed on YouTube and Facebook for those who cannot attend in person.

We believe that our collective presence at this event would not only reflect our commitment to building real, impactful connections but also demonstrate our support for important community initiatives. This is an opportunity to make a meaningful contribution to a cause that resonates with the heart of every member of the Ryse Team.

Coordinating Our March Attendance:

If you are interested in joining us for the February 14th Women's Memorial March and would like to coordinate a meet-up with your fellow Ryse team members, please reach out to Danielle Kemble, our Chief Operating Officer, at DanielleK@rysesupportiveservices.ca.

Danielle will help arrange a convenient meet-up point and provide further details to ensure that we can all attend the event together.

Dress Code:

While we are working on providing orange T-shirts, there is a possibility that they may not be available in time for the march. To ensure we can easily identify each other in the crowd, we encourage you to wear either an orange T-shirt if you have one, or your Ryse T-shirts or hoodies.
